At Lefdal Mine Data Centers we are looking for experienced Data Center Technicians to provide dedicated support to one of our existing High Performance Computing customers. You'll become part of a highly skilled technical team operating cutting-edge IT infrastructure in one of Europe's most energy-efficient and sustainable data centers.
This is more than traditional rack-and-stack work. You'll be involved throughout the lifecyle of advanced HPC infrastructure, from deployment and integration to maintenance, troubleshooting and continous improvements.
This is a permanent, full-time position based at our facility in Lefdal, Nordfjord, Norway (N-6773 Kjølsdalen).
What you'll be doing
As a Data Center Technican working at Lefdal Mine Data Centers, you'll work closely with colleagues, customers and vendors to keep mission-critical infrastructure running at its best.
Your daily chores will include:
Deploying servers, storage, network equipment and structured cabling
Installing, updgrading and repairing server hardware
Integrating hardware compents
Supporting large-scale deployment projects
Coordinating with hardware vendors for maintenance and warranty services
Troubleshooting issues and ensuring maximum availability
Contributing to continuous improvements in operational processes
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who enjoys practical technical work and takes pride in doing things right.
Ideally, you have:
Experience working in a modern data centre environment
Strong understanding of server hardware and enterprise infrastructure
Experience working with servers, replacement and installment of hardware components
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
The ability to stay organised while handling multiple priorities
You must have professional communication skills in both Norwegian and English, written and spoken, and a valid class B driving licence.
Your background
You may have a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or another relevant field or you may have developed your expertise through hands-on experience. Because of the nature of our customers' operations, participation in an on-call rotation is required. This may include evenings, weekends and public holidays. Overtime may also occur during planned maintenance windows and larger deployment projects.
